Bush must be stopped

In the last poll I saw Bush was at a 36% approval rating. It seems to me that if Bush is to go even lower in the polls it will have to come from his base. I can think of two areas where this might happen:

1) honest and principled conservatives- let's face it: Bush is not a conservative (nor is he honest or principled) but a radical right activist and conservatives who genuinely value the constitution are already grumbling. Case in point, former Congressman Bob Barr:

“The emergence of international terrorism on our shores cannot be allowed to dissolve the carefully constructed structural foundations for preserving our liberty that are required by the Constitution; that very document our soldiers have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice their lives to protect.” --Former Congressman Bob Barr (R-GA), Chairman of Patriots to Restore Checks and Balances

A number of Conservatives have signed a letter to George W. Bush concerning the Patriot Act:

2) The religious right: I know--he's one of them (or pretends to be.) But if more evangelical Christians knew of his involvement with the Unification Church (Moonies) and knew more about that group, I do not think they would approve. Do they know that he sent a statement of support to a group that sponsored a Tear Down The Cross Day?
This wintry season, as the faithful continue to receive alarming reports from the news that Republicans are all that stand between them and the outlawing of Christmas itself by hordes of secular humanists, the two presidents Bush have endorsed a powerful conservative interest group specializing in removing the cross -- not from schools or courthouses, but from churches.
