Hillary "Eight Belles" Clinton's campaign needs to be put down.

"I hope that everybody will go to the derby on Saturday and place just a little money on the filly for me," Sen. Clinton told supporters in Jeffersonville, Ind., ABC News reports. "I won't be able to be there this year - my daughter is going to be there and so she has strict instructions to bet on Eight Belles."

Isn't that cute?

Unfortunately, Eight Belles came in second place to (I'm not making this up) a horse named Big Brown, suffered a fatal injury and had to be euthanized immediately following the race.
Could there be a better comparison to Hillary's campaign at this point? She ran a good race but she is in second place and is hopelessly damaged and needs to be put out of her misery, metaphorically speaking.

The problem with Hillary is that she would try to keep on running even after broking all her limbs. You have to give her that, she's not a quiter.

Bad joke apart, I'm sure there's some serious backroom negociations going on right now. Bill's face said it all when she gave her speech this week, they know they are dead, now it's a matter of getting the best deal for the political capital she accumulated.
