Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. Twenty-two percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.

Which adds up to 45 million abortions since 1973. So much for "safe, legal and rare" although I guess we're two-thirds there. The pro-life position is that every one of these women should be chained to a bed, if necessary, and forced to give birth to these babies. Oddly though most pro-lifers also seem to be against contraception and the teaching of contraception in the public schools.
