Until recently I would have been in the "civil unions" crowd. My daughter Tara (who is, unfortunately, not a lesbian) turned me around on this issue.

I think that Marriage should be an individual religious arrangement with no legal recognition.
I also believe that ALL couples, regardless of their sexual make-up, should have "civil unions" if they want their domestic partnerships to carry the force of law.
