all the media has to do is say over and over again that the race is close ( even if it isn't) , and people will believeit enough for diebold to hand the election back to the corporate flack that the repubs are running as an "independant" "maverick".
To the anon above - essentialy you're correct except that the gulf in support between the two just can't be covered up at this point. The vile MSM can squawk all it likes about a supposed close race but it isn't and too many people have noticed, which is why the manipulators will have to pull some stunt to change the equation.
