Reporter: Mr. President, following up on Vladimir Putin for a moment, he said recently that next year, when he has to step down according to the constitution, as the president, he may become prime minister; in effect keeping power and dashing any hopes for a genuine democratic transition there ...

President Bush: I've been planning that myself. (laughter)

Gary,

Was Bush deadpan serious or was he joking? what article did this quote appear in?

personally I don't we'll have "real elections" next year. We'll be given a choice of either Hilary by the Dems or mr. archconservative Romney by the Repubs.

If we have an election, some folks will stop voting because they have figured out their votes don't count anymore and then between the new electronic voting machines that make stealing elections so easy, Romney will win by at least a 5 to 8 percent spread.

We're just behind Mexico in terms of the type of government that we have: a very few priviledged wealthy dictating to the impoverished masses who can be "disappeared" at anytime once they begin to protest their miserable lives and lowered standard of living. (think 10 people living in a 1 bedroom apartment meant for 2 people and multiply this scenario a thousandfold in cities across the country)

that's were we're heading for. a watered down scaled down of Burma.
