The Libby Conviction

I think Cosmic Iguana puts it best "LIBBY GUILTY, CHENEY STILL AT LARGE."

I feel sorry for Scooter Libby and his family. The fall guy likely goes to prison and the real culprits get away. I am sorry that Fitzgerald did not indict anyone for the "underlying offense." Perhaps if it were not for the perjury and obstruction of justice he would have been able to. I am sorry that Karl Rove, after some five appearances before the grand jury, was able to slip away.

Clearly the man at the center of this whole affair was Dick Cheney. It is my fervent hope that the Congress will investigate not only the Plame affair, but also Cheney's ties to Halliburton, and the lies that led to war. Many on the left are clamoring for the impeachment of George W. Bush, but for many reasons I think that it is Dick Cheney who should be impeached. He is the greater threat.
