Badgeman (If you don't know who Badgeman is then you are probably not a JFK assassination buff--suffice it to say that this is a blow up of a section of the Mary Moorman photograph showing the area behind the picket fence on the Grassy Knoll. Click on the photo and it should get bigger.

They found Badgeman in the Moorman photo. Someone told me it was merely a man lighting up a cigarette. What a torch for one cigarette!

Joseph McBride, in Into the Nightmare, argues that badge man was Dallas Police patrolman JD Tippet, who was killed 38 minutes after JFK was killed a few blocks from where Oswald and Ruby lived, and blocks from where Oswald was caught. My sense is that it's very possible it's Tippet but not probable. However, Tippet was definitely involved in the assassination and his murder represents a doublecross.
